Peace Is Every Step The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life Thich Nhat Hanh Arnold Kotler H H the Dalai Lama Books

I have read at least a dozen of Thich Nhat Hanh's books. They are all wonderful, without exception. This one is my favorite. It is a true masterpiece. It is overflowing with gentleness, insight and compassion. I read a few chapters every morning when I pray and meditate and I fall in love again every day.

This may sound rather dramatic and perhaps it is, but I cannot recommend this book enough. I believe it has changed my life.

The three treasures of compassion, simplicity and humility are to be found here in abundance. I do myself a favor every time I read it.

Peace Is Every Step The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life Thich Nhat Hanh Arnold Kotler H H the Dalai Lama Books Reviews

This book more than anything helped me be more aware of the impact of my actions, even the small ones. This led to many changes in the way I live my life. Four stars because I didn't like some of the examples the author gave. He said if a mother is truly present with her baby the baby will stop crying. Babies are supposed to cry because they are babies and it's natural. It's not the fault of the mother if her baby doesn't stop crying.
With love and compassion for all Living Beings Thich Nhat Hahn teaches us how to implement mindfullness in our daily lives in order to take responsibility for ourselves and our planet.

Being a zen buddhist munk Thich Nhat Hanh shares great clarity and insight with simplicity and humility to kindly remind us all that in spite of differences we are not enemies by nature. We are interconnected flawed beings and the only way to heal our flaws and the suffering they sustain is by taking responsibility for your inner life. By embracing the dirt inside yourself as a vital medium for inner growth you plant a seed to forgive yourself and others. By healing yourself you take an active part in healing the outer world as well.

The key is practicing mindfull awareness. In a very down to earth fashion Thich Nhat Hahn provides specific simple pointers as well as lessons of the universe. He gently guides the reader towards greater understanding of what meditation is all about and ultimately a greater appreciation of life itself. It all starts by learning how to love your true self beyond your ego as this true self is a vital, inter-connected part of this world and it's beings.

I am in deep gratitude for the healing words and kind guidance of Thich Nhat Hahn. I can heartfully recommend the fundamentals of the mindfull practices recommended in this book. I find it to be working although I often slip due to my 'old programming'. It does not matter that much though so rather than complaining I simply do my best to practice. I breathe, smile and slowly walk the path my life of knowing I am doing good to myself and those around me when being present.

The writing may at times appear simplistic but the truth running beneath the words is undeniable and the seeds of self patience and tolerance will sprout within you if you embrace his teaching.

Buy this gem - read it with an open mind. I am grateful I did.
I love this author! He is so charming, loving and inspirational. This book I use to help clients with mindfulness. I am a trauma therapist and mindfulness is one of the tools I use to help others to be in the moment and relieve some of their anxiety and stress. This is a wonderful tool for every day life and living in the moment with peace.
I cannot say enough good things about this book! It is deceptively small and simple in appearance, but it is deep and complex in content. It took me awhile to read it because each short "chapter" is best savored and given time to digest. Sometimes I would allow a week or more to focus on a particular chapter and the practice described by that chapter. I know that doing so helped me to gain tools for dealing with the challenges that life inevitably brings to us all. In fact, it already helped me get through a particularly difficult time in my life.

I have almost come to view this book as a kind friend. It is a book I know I will read again and again and continue to benefit from its wisdom. I would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone and everyone, especially those who are looking for guidance in living a more mindful, peaceful life.
I purchased this book because it was on Bill Gates list. I also didn't know where to begin in terms of meditation. "Peace is every step" is literally what this book is about. Finding peace in what we feel is mundane has helped me become addicted to happiness and discover a calm within. I highly recommend this book. We make our life so caotic and this book helps us become conscious in an unconscious world!
I could not get enough of Thich's books. His mediation technique is fantastic. I am breathing better than before but calmness. I just finished reading "You are Here," such a great book. Even though he is a Buddhist monk, this book is for everyone. I love how he does not push you to be Buddhist but to except love and peace. From time to time, I get so stressed out from work and life, with this book it really helps me bring down my anger, and mediate. I recommend this book to everyone.
Peace is Every Step has helped many of my friends and family members get through rough (or even smooth!) times in their lives. This book is a must-have if you are going through any kind of stressful situation or you are just looking for simple ways to live mindfully. It is organized in very short chapters which are perfect if you want to read one quick chapter a day and then think on it. The messages are easy to understand and provide such accessible wisdom compared to other books of this nature which can be ponderous, new-agey, or overly complicated. My life is better since this book came into my life, and I will never be without a copy.
