The story of a young orphan kidnapped onto a splendid sloop of mysterious origins that takes him through many an adventure. From the rain forest, through the Bermuda Triangle and on to the conservative ways of Boston, Massachusetts, magic, romance and high mindedness conspire to capture the essence of the 1970's search for expanded horizons and open minds. The need for saving the rain forest is matched only by the need to find meaning in alien worlds that can heal and provide inspiration to all who travel there. For the young at heart, and all who care about the planet.
H An Urchin Tale edition by Henry Childs Literature Fiction eBooks
Well-written and well-paced, this novel will draw you in. The coming-of-age story of an orphan from Bermuda who unwittingly becomes involved in a project to study medicinal plants in the Amazon rain forest, with the larger implications of saving the biodiversity of the forests themselves as a resource vital to the survival of humans. The characters are nicely developed and are an interesting study in human diversity. But the story remains light-hearted and an easy read. Recommended.Product details
